Meet the Founders:

Bobbie Avery

My name is Bobbie Avery. I love helping women have the best birth possible. I have three daughters. My first birth was medicated, my next two were natural births. I became a birth/postpartum doula because I love helping families. My training was through DONA and CAPPA. I have attended births in hospital and birth center settings. I support women whatever their decision but provide information so that they can make informed decisions. I was also a La Leche Leader for several years. I maintain a lending library on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, circumcision and other issues pertaining to women.

Nirvana "Harley" Jennette Sr

I am a Christian who whole-heartedly trusts in God's design of the womanly body. My passion is for natural births but ultimately want a mama to have an empowered birth.

I am a mother of 7. I have 2 bonus-children, Chase and Catie. My first baby that I birthed is, JJ who born in a hospital. My second, Chaya, and third, Hunter, were born at a wonderful freestanding Birthing Center; Hunter was a water birth. My fourth baby was a homebirth. Flower, a late miscarriage, went home to be with Yahweh. I have been blessed with getting to raise 4 of my babies.

After I finish certifying for Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA) Childbirth Educator and Birth Doula as well as Hypnobabies Birth Doula, I am going to do other certifications with CAPPA including lactation consultant and adoption doula. I am also training to be a Midwife Assistant (Birth Assistant).

In addition to this, I am co-founder and President of Birth And Breastfeeding Enrichment Services (BABES) in Partnership for Camden. I also volunteer with Operation Special Delivery.

I am currently attending college for my BS in American Sign Language so that I can also serve the deaf community in birth and birth education. After this I plan on working on my Masters, and possibly Doctorate, in Perinatal and Prenatal Psychology.

In my role as Doula, I do not see myself as a "birth coach." I help the Mama coach herself so that she can call the shots to achieve the birth she wants. I also help her educate herself by pointing her towards the resources she needs and helping her do research so that she feels comfortable in the choices she makes. I love everything about birth and helping women empower themselves.

Oh, my real name is Nirvana but everyone knows me as Harley. I answer to both.
